Madagascar has a unique essence that one can only truly grasp by venturing onto

Lemur of Madagascar
Lemur of Madagascar

this remote island. In my mind, few have been able to capture its spirit. Its beauty and diversity unfold in astonishing landscapes, complemented by the warmth and uniqueness of its people. While it shares some similarities with the continent, Madagascar, the fourth-largest island globally, captivates with distinctions that are nothing short of fascinating.

For many, the adorable lemurs stand out as the island's most coveted feature. I wholeheartedly agree. These endearing creatures, ranging from the size of a tiny mouse to a commanding baboon, enchant observers as they frolic and play. The curious gaze of lemurs observing those who watch them adds an extra layer of charm. In contrast, the eerie howls of some lemur species may initially startle you, but the thrill of spotting them will undoubtedly put your observation skills to the test.

However, Madagascar offers more than just lemurs to its visitors. The ever-changing flora and fauna create mesmerizing panoramas that evolve with each passing mile. From dense rainforests to vast arid deserts, mighty mountains to iconic rock formations, and untouched white sand beaches to tranquil palm-fringed resorts, the variety of scenery is a constant source of wonder. Prepare to be breathless when you encounter an alley of mighty Baobab trees, seemingly growing from the sky – a testament to the island's magnificence.

Adding to the enchantment is the human element, with extensive farmlands and brick country houses dotting the countryside. The Malagasy people highly value their culture and traditions, irrespective of socioeconomic status. Their friendly and hospitable nature shines through, and their artistry is evident in beautiful silk weaves, flower-enclosing handcrafted paper, and exquisite embroidery.
Although it has been years since my last visit, my enthusiasm for every facet of this intriguing country remains unwavering. Madagascar stands as a world apart, with eighty percent of its flora and fauna found nowhere else on Earth, and a captivating blend of cultures from several distinct tribes and strong French influences. It's a haven for the more adventurous traveller seeking a different experience that takes them off the beaten track.

Our carefully planned journey is designed to explore the deserts, rainforests, mountains, beaches, and the captivating lemurs. The grand finale awaits as we conclude our adventure with a stay on the beautiful resort island of Nosy Be. This tour beckons to those in search of a true adventure and a travel experience that ventures beyond the ordinary. Madagascar, with its unparalleled charm, promises an odyssey that will linger in the hearts of those who dare to explore its wonders.

Happy Travels,

Rob Craig, President
