Itinerary
Travellers gather in Toronto for the flights to Sweden.
Upon arrival in Stockholm, we will be greeted and transferred to our hotel. The remainder of the day is free to relax before we meet for dinner. Nearby, you’ll find Drottninggatan, Stockholm’s renowned 1.5 km pedestrian-only shopping street.
Clarion Hotel Sign (3 nights)
This morning, we start our tour with a visit to one of Stockholm's most popular attractions, the Vasa Museum, where you'll marvel at the preserved remains of the country’s largest warship. Next, we’ll visit City Hall to admire the stunning Golden Hall, adorned with mosaics that tell the stories of Swedish legends. After some free time this afternoon, we'll come together for a scenic dinner cruise through the Stockholm archipelago, which boasts over 1,000 islands.
A true highlight awaits as we tour Drottningholm Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a beautifully preserved example of 17th-century European Baroque architecture. After the tour, we’ll board a short cruise back to the city centre, where we’ll enjoy lunch. The rest of the day is at leisure before dinner at the hotel.
Early this morning, we bid farewell to Stockholm and take a short flight to Copenhagen. Upon arrival in Denmark’s capital, we'll explore some of the city's iconic highlights, including the Little Mermaid, the Gefion Fountain, and the Royal Residence, Amalienborg Palace. After, we'll check into our hotel and relax before gathering for dinner.

Today we drive through the picturesque Danish countryside to Hillerød, where we'll visit the stunning Frederiksborg Castle, built by Christian IV in the 17th century. Now home to the National History Museum, it showcases a wealth of treasures, including paintings, tapestries, and porcelain. Next, we head to the coast to admire the magnificent Kronborg Castle in Elsinore, famously known as the setting of Shakespeare's Hamlet.
In the heart of the city, we’ll visit Rosenborg Castle, built in the early 17th century for Christian IV. This ornate castle houses a remarkable collection of Venetian glass, tapestries, life-sized silver lions, and Denmark’s crown jewels. After exploring the castle, we head to Nyhavn Canal for lunch. Enjoy some free time this afternoon to stroll along the vibrant canal or explore the nearby pedestrian-only streets. Later, we’ll board our overnight ferry bound for Norway.
DFDS Seaways (1 night)
For those who wish to start their day early, you can enjoy serene vistas as we sail through Oslo Fjord. Upon arrival, we’ll take in panoramic views of Oslo and enjoy a guided tour of the iconic Oslo Opera House. For those interested in history, art, and architecture, optional visits to the Royal Palace and City Hall, are highly recommended.

Our day in Oslo will be dedicated to exploring the city's renowned museums. We’ll visit the Norsk Folkemuseum, Norway’s largest museum of cultural history, which showcases how people lived from 1500 to the present. Next, we’ll explore the Fram Museum, which highlights Norwegian polar explorations, and the Kon-Tiki Museum, home to Thor Heyerdahl’s balsawood raft used for his historic Pacific voyage.
Start the day at a relaxed pace before we visit one of Oslo’s unique attractions. Gustav Vigeland (1869–1943) designed Frogner Park and created over 200 granite, bronze, and cast iron sculptures that adorn this expansive green space. From there, we’ll travel north into Norway’s heartland, passing through the tundra-like landscape of Hardangervidda National Park on our way to the charming ski town of Geilo.
Bardola Hoyfjellshotell (1 night)
Today, we’ll journey through some of the most scenic landscapes in Scandinavia. We begin with a ride on the famous Flam Railway, which winds through mountains from Myrdal to the town of Flam. From there, we’ll board a fast ferry that takes us through Sognefjord to the coastal city of Bergen.

Our exploration of Bergen will start with a visit to the famous open-air fish market and a stroll through Bryggen, where the traditional wooden medieval buildings from the Hanseatic League era still stand. Next, we’ll take the funicular to the top of Mount Fløyen for a breathtaking view of Bergen. We’ll also visit the Fantoft Stave Church, an iconic cultural site made without nails, which exemplifies Norway's historic stave churches. The evening is free for you to explore the city and dine at one of the excellent local restaurants.
Today is yours to fully explore this charming coastal town at your own pace. You’ll find plenty of shops offering local treats and goodies. Bergen is also home to the KODE Museums, a complex dedicated to the arts, crafts, design, and music.
All too soon our Scandinavian adventure comes to an end as we gather for our homeward journey.
