Tour members from across Canada depart for Buenos Aires, the bustling capital of Argentina.

Upon arrival, we will be transferred to our hotel for check-in. After settling in, take the opportunity to explore this vibrant city at your leisure.

Our Antarctica adventure kicks off with an early morning flight to Ushuaia, the capital of Argentina's Tierra del Fuego Province. Here, we'll board our hybrid electric-powered expedition ship, purpose-built for sustainable cruising in polar waters. Nestled against the stunning Martial mountain range, Ushuaia vies for the title of the world's southernmost city. After a briefing from the Expedition Team, you will have time to find your cabin and explore the ship's many comforts and amenities.

During our two-day crossing of the Drake Passage, the Expedition Team will prepare you thoroughly to make the most of your polar expedition. Visit the onboard Science Center to learn about what lies ahead. Listen to passionate experts discuss Antarctica’s history, the science beneath the ice, and the effects of climate change and plastic pollution. Gain insights on how to ensure your visit is safe and discover the Citizen Science projects you can join. There will be plenty of time to relax, so unwind in the spa and wellness area, savour delicious cuisine, and mingle with fellow travellers in the Explorer lounge and bar.

Nothing can truly prepare you for your first sight of Antarctica’s immense, frozen beauty. The continent fills you with wonder, surrounded by towering glaciers and icebergs as large as floating cathedrals. One of Antarctica’s most surprising aspects is its profound silence, occasionally interrupted by the local wildlife. Whales begin to arrive in greater numbers by December and January, coinciding with the hatching of the first penguin chicks. Watching these clumsy, feathered chicks is always a charming sight. Here, nature reigns supreme, and we are mere observers. Our experienced Captain will monitor conditions to create the best possible itinerary for your adventure, ensuring each day offers something new and thrilling. Join the Expedition Team on landings and ice cruises, and you may even have the chance to kayak among the icebergs. Back on board, the Expedition Team will continue their lectures, deepening your understanding of this frozen continent. Over five magical days, we will witness this extraordinary world, forging experiences that will forever remain etched in our hearts.

After five incredible days, we start our journey back to Ushuaia. Use the next few days to reflect on your adventure to the seventh continent and its breathtaking wonders. As you reminisce about the magical Antarctic scenery, take the opportunity to unwind in the sauna or indulge in relaxing spa treatments.

Our expedition cruise concludes in Ushuaia, followed by a flight back to Buenos Aires, often called the "Paris of South America" for its stunning architecture. This lively city is rich in history and renowned for its art, popular café culture, incredible food scene, lively atmosphere, and passionate locals. As both Argentina's capital and largest city, Buenos Aires offers a wealth of experiences. Upon arrival, we will transfer to our hotel for check-in, followed by a delightful dinner this evening.

Explore Buenos Aires in style starting with a drive along the iconic "9 de Julio," the world's widest avenue, passing by the impressive Colón Theatre. Visit Plaza de Mayo to see the Government House and the historic City Hall. Step inside the Metropolitan Cathedral to marvel at its towering ceilings, stained glass, marble columns, and exquisite paintings. Next, explore the vibrant La Boca district with a stroll along "Caminito," famous for its colourful streets brimming with souvenir shops and Tango dancers. Pass by the Boca Juniors soccer stadium before heading through the lush parks of Palermo towards Recoleta, one of the city’s most glamorous areas. Conclude your tour at Recoleta Cemetery, founded in 1822 and home to the graves of national heroes, presidents, writers, scientists, and artists. Admire its ornate mausoleums, sculptures, and vaults created by local and international artists, and visit Eva Perón’s tomb. As we return towards the downtown area we’ll make a stop in Puerto Madero, the waterfront district transformed from recycled docks (the itinerary is subject to change depending on traffic conditions). In the evening, experience the essence of Buenos Aires with a tango show in San Telmo. At Gala Tango, immerse yourself in local culture with gourmet dishes and fine wines. Enjoy live music by tango musicians, featuring deep, romantic poetry sung by renowned singers. Experience a spirited Andean music show and an emotive Evita performance. Celebrities like Madonna, Andrea Bocelli, Sting, and Zucchero have embraced Gala Tango during their visits to Buenos Aires.

All too soon our journey draws to a close as we board our return flights to Canada.
