Jim Thompson spent his formative years in small-town Ontario, north of Waterloo. After graduating from Ryerson University in electronics and after working with ‘Ontario Hydro’, Jim began a two-year journey around the world. While in Europe, he had the opportunity to engage in dialogue with Otto Frank (father of Anne Frank). In Ethiopia, he taught mathematics for one school year. In India, he spent a week with Mahatma Gandhi’s son at their family home in Sevagram. Jim has a B.A. from York University in Philosophy, and a ‘Master of Divinity’ degree from the Vancouver School of Theology, UBC. He has served as a minister with the United Church of Canada for over 35 years. His zeal to travel and interact with other lands, peoples and cultures has only intensified with each new adventure. Jim enjoys making these kinds of experiences available to those who share the same passion. This will be his fifth and most comprehensive journey to the lands of the Bible.
