Recently I was fortunate to qualify for a spot on a Travel Agent familiarization seminar at sea aboard the ms Midnatsol, part of the Hurtigruten fleet, for their springtime “Arctic Awakening” Norwegian coastal cruise from Kirkenes to Bergen (known as “The World’s Most Beautiful Voyage”). During my trip to the land of the Vikings I experienced an awakening of my inner explorer, and you might too.

The 2014 brochure highlights “Treasures of Israel and Jordan. 15 days. 27 meals. Escorted by the Rev. Brian Galligan” That’s ‘our’ Rev. Brian Galligan, of Acton’s St. Alban’s Church. Talking with him it’s clear that the meals advertised as ‘on offer’ were misleading. The by-line overlooks the setting –a feast for the eyes- and the endless amount of nourishment for the soul.
