Reflections of Ireland

Wild, wonderful, scenic, breathtaking and historic are all words that I would use to describe our Craig Travel trip to Ireland in September 2016! From the time we arrived to the time we left, our needs were very well taken care of, and even a little damp weather at the beginning did nothing to dampen our spirits! Travelling in a large, comfortable tour coach, our friendly and extremely skilled bus driver/guide Brendan drove us safely along many narrow and winding roads, entertaining us with his tremendous knowledge and local insights.

I recall so many amazing highlights of exploring this beautiful “Emerald Isle”….the stunning landscapes and countryside, picturesque coastal vistas, the attractive and very varied architecture we saw in small towns, countryside and big city settings, ranging from thatched cottages to incredible Cathedrals. So interesting was the dramatic Titanic Exhibit and the many castles and historical sites; the rolling fields in many shades of green that were blanketed with sheep or cattle; the magnificent Trinity Library where the Book of Kells is housed; walking on the Giant’s Causeway; the fascinating, historical walkabout recognizing the 100th anniversary of the Easter Rising and so much more! It was a comfortably-paced trip with friendly people, great hotels and excellent food, so we were able to get a real taste of local culture and flavour. I recall using the term“ exquisite” several times, beginning with our welcome dinner and ending with our spectacular and fun farewell evening and dinner at the Merry Ploughboy Pub. This is a trip that would please the most discriminate traveller, so please make sure you put Ireland as a must-see destination on your Craig Travel tour list!

Space is running out on our June 9 and September 22 departures - call to book!
