Today, while the world is reeling in a state of uncertainty, we know that as night turns to day, the fear and anxiety that we are all experiencing now, will pass. While many of our spring and summer journeys have been postponed or cancelled, we are working very hard every day on creating exciting programs for when the time is right. We understand that like us, you have that insatiable desire to experience this wonderful world of ours. As travellers, we know that travel enriches our lives through new experiences and memories that will last a lifetime. But for now, as we’re busy planning, we invite you to dream of your next adventure!
Dreaming about South Africa?
One dream destination is, without question, Southern Africa. It has been, for Craig Travel, one of our most highly regarded and most popular exotic journeys for many years. Why is that? South Africa is all about the variety of experiences it offers; experiences that amaze and delight. From the magnificent gardens of Kirstenbosch to the stunning wine estates of Stellenbosch; from the heights of Table Mountain to the ostrich farms of Oudtshoorn; from the beaches and forests of the Garden Route to the birdlife of Lake St. Lucia; from the startling displays of the Zulu to the incredible wildlife varieties in Mkuze, Kruger and Chobe National Parks; from the magnificent scenery of the Eastern Transvaal to the awe-inspiring experience of Victoria Falls in all its glory. This is a journey that takes us continually from one highlight to another and diversity abounds at every turn.
Even our accommodations are a wonderful experience, each offering a unique ambiance, a comfortable, cozy place to rest and rejuvenate for the next days’ adventure. In Cape Town, our journey begins at the lovely 36-suite Hyde Hotel in the popular Sea Point area. The Kruger Gate Lodge, set in a park setting and surrounded by bush, is just minutes from one of South Africa’s best parks. The grand old Victoria Falls Hotel, overlooking the falls and set in a wonderful park-like setting is elegant, nostalgic and delightful. In Botswana, the five-star Chobe Game Lodge is the only lodge located inside world renowned Chobe National Park. It is spread out along the shores of the Zambesi River and offers game viewing from the in-room balconies. It is the perfect place to end our African adventure!
The cuisine and fine South African wines are truly delightful. The meals are varied, sumptuous and always a highlight for Craig Travellers.
Our group members always rave about Beverley, our national guide extraordinaire, who has been guiding our groups for many years. She is not only an incredible guide, she is also a very efficient, caring person and a highlight of each journey. When Nelson Mandela had dignitaries visit him, he would request that Beverley be their guide. Now that’s impressive!
Now is the time to dream. If you don’t have a bucket list, I encourage you to start one with South Africa at the top. If South Africa is already on your list, continue that dream. Better days are ahead and you are in for the trip of a lifetime!
