It’s been a long time coming, but finally the government of Canada has lifted the global “non-essential” travel advisory for Canadian citizens who are fully vaccinated. The nation or region based advisory system has now returned. Globally, vaccination rates are increasing and countries are moving to relax travel restrictions and reopen borders; all good news for the travel deprived who are tired of the confines of their homes. This announcement is sure to bring back international travel in a big way.

Following our September issue of Travel Talk where I wrote a brief outline of our upcoming 2022 Oberammergau tours and river cruises, we received an excellent response from our readers and I am pleased to say that at this time, available space is becoming a premium on many departures. With just seven months to go until the start of our series of eight unique itineraries (by land and river cruise) and departures running May through September, it is clear that many of our travellers are yearning for a return to Europe! There is still a choice of itinerary and dates, but you must book soon. Be sure to visit our website to explore which itinerary you will choose for your return to travel!

The United Kingdom and Ireland have always been our most popular destinations!

2022 will bring a return to the journeys our travellers have come to love in this picturesque part of the world. Our Best of Ireland journey, featuring both the north and south, offers three leisurely paced departures (MAY, AUG, SEP) with stays of two or three nights in almost all centres visited. If you have not yet visited this enchanting land and discovered the rich Irish culture and an Irish pub or two, you’re in for a very special treat! Reserve your space early and save $200 per person.

Speaking of rich cultures, charming Wales has culture aplenty! On our Welsh Delights journey it’s all about a fascinating history, medieval castles, historic sites, narrow gauge railways, stunning land and seascapes, delicious local cuisine and delightful Welsh brogue! This journey is another one offering multi-night stays (two to four nights) in all centres visited. With only one departure, June 9 – 21, 2022, you don’t want to wait long to reserve your space! Book by January 31st and save $200 per person.

Not to be left out, our Scottish Highlands and Isles adventure takes place August 1 – 15 and has only a few seats remaining. Highlights include visits to several of Scotland’s most scenic isles (Mull, Iona, the Holy Isle, Skye and the Hebrides), a performance of the famous Edinburgh Military Tattoo, visits to Scotland’s most famous castles and much more. Explore the major cities, enjoy delicious cuisine and have opportunities to taste haggis and enjoy a wee dram of famous Scottish whisky. Join popular tour leader, Janet Williams, on this delightful Scottish journey!

A destination which is becoming more popular each year that we offer it, is The Baltic States of Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia. The restoration of independence in 1991 in these three states was a happy outcome of the demise of the Soviet Union. Each of these states are uniquely different as far as ethnicity, language, historical development and religion, even though they are geographically attached. This journey takes place May 16 – 30 and offers visitors many surprises; surprises that there is so much of interest and beauty, and surprise that the Iron Curtain was so dense as to hide the richness of each of these societies. This one belongs on your bucket list! Book by December 21 and save!

Happy Halloween!
