Seasons come and go and here we are, once again, putting away the patio furniture, tossing the potted plants that were gorgeous such a short time ago and preparing our homes and gardens for winter. Yes, batten down the hatches everyone! The white stuff is just around the corner.
Fortunately, there is a happy solution to what’s ahead….escape to warmer climes. As Canadians, many of us head south for a few weeks or a few months, renewing friendships with like-minded folks who journey there each year. Others begin the search for a new adventure to some exotic part of the world, to a destination new to them, or a country visited years ago and now they wish to return.
The key, I believe, is to study your choices and then book your vacation early. Why? Many reasons really, but most important to me, is that the anticipation of an upcoming holiday is a big part of the overall enjoyment. By reserving your place months (or even a year!) in advance, you have all that time pre-departure, to anticipate all that you will see, do and enjoy. Booking early also gives you time to convince your friends to travel with you!
Early booking guarantees your space on the tour or cruise you have chosen. And it takes away the stress of wondering if space will be available by the time you make your decision. I have often had disappointed clients contact me to say they waited too long to book a tour I am leading; that when they called to book, the departure was already sold out.
On cruises, possible price increases (for cruise and air) are a good reason to confirm your intentions early. Pricing is based on supply and demand and cruise lines can spring increases on us at any time. Our Sales Agents check current promotions when you are ready to book and if lower prices are available and can be negotiated for the group, those savings are passed on to those travellers already booked. In addition, the most desirable cabins sell first, so confirm early and get one of the best. The bottom line…don’t wait any longer to book your winter vacation. It’s that time of year!
