Hooray! A New Year!

Post date: Author:

It’s finally on our doorstep…a new year! A fresh start! All I can say to 2020 is don’t let the door hit your behind on the way out! It seems this year has lasted forever and much of it has felt surreal. But now, everything is looking up and it’s finally time to move forward and get ourselves and our lives back to “normal.”

So what is that normal? For me, the start of a new year is always about going from room to room in my home and purging things I no longer need, give a room or two a fresh coat of paint, record important dates on the new calendar, check in with friends and last, but definitely not least, start planning for all of the travel I hope to take in the new year.

This year has been a tough one and my luggage is calling out to me from the closet “Get me out of here! Open me and fill me to the brim! I need to travel! I don’t care where you take me; let’s get moving!” Okay, I admit, it’s not my luggage talking; it’s me. I am beyond ready and I can’t wait for the New Year to get underway.

Now I’m confident that we can start to plan our next adventure. It’s going to be amazing, whatever, wherever we decide. The point is, we’re almost there. A vaccine is on its way and I can’t wait to get in line for it.

Are you thinking about your next adventure? Are you as excited as I am? I am so looking forward to a tour of the Maritimes in June; a great way to ease into travel without leaving Canada. In September, I am beyond thrilled to lead a group on an AmaWaterways river cruise; this time sailing the delightful Douro River through Portugal. With only 51 staterooms on the ms AmaDouro, space will fill quickly and already there are bookings.

In February 2022, my luggage will be super excited as I pack it up and take off for Thailand and Laos on a journey by land and river… the Upper Mekong! I would love to have you join me on any of these adventures, but don’t wait to book. I am not the only one who wants to start exploring again. There is pent up anticipation to get moving again; I hear it from friends and clients who have travelled with me in the past.

The Craig Travel website is filling with exciting journeys to exotic destinations. Don’t you agree that half the pleasure of any journey is the anticipation of looking forward to it? I do. And heaven knows, we ALL need something to look forward to now!

Happy New Year everyone!
