Roslyn and I are thrilled to once again be returning to East Africa on our 2024 adventure. If ever there was a destination that should be on your bucket list, this is it. No other region in the world offers the depth and breadth of game viewing that is found in these two lands.
The vast variety of landscapes and vegetation and the almost endless varieties of game… the “Big Five” (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and White/Black rhinoceros), predators, plains animals, birdlife and much more is, at times, spellbinding! At every turn, there are reserves and national parks….Masai Mara, the Serengeti, Mt. Kilimanjaro, vast areas set aside for the protection and nurturing of wildlife in their natural habitat…names which conjure up thrilling adventure and magnificent scenery! Our visit will take place at the best time of year to experience the great migration, providing the opportunity to witness the largest herds that cross the Masai Mara, following the rains and new vegetation in their never ending search for food. Viewing wildlife from open safari vehicles as they go about their daily rituals is an awe-inspiring experience!
We will experience wonderful lodges and camps that have developed over the decades. Examples include the lovely Mara Serena Lodge located in the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve, set high on a hill with long views over the savannah and down to the winding coils of the hippo-filled Mara River. The lodge stands centre-stage to one of Africa's most dramatic wildlife arenas. Another treat is the Sweetwaters Luxury Tented Camp, a sheltered oasis with tents featuring ensuite bathrooms (hot and cold running water, 24-hour hot showers and flushing WCs). All tents have canvas interiors, solid floors and separate thatched roofs….a charming blend of ambiance and Kenyan safari luxury. Accommodations at all of our lodges and camps are unique, comfortable and wonderful, offering ringside seats at the greatest wildlife show on earth!
