Born in Sault Ste Marie, David has lived in Calgary, Toronto, Sydney (Australia) and a number of other cities around the world. David began his lifelong relationship with travel while still in high school, working first with Canada Steamship Lines and then with Horizon Holidays, as a tour escort. While not travelling across Canada, David spent four years at the University of Toronto in an effort to become an engineer before going on to York University to take an MBA. Graduating in 1971, David decided that it was far too early to settle down and so spent five years exploring the globe, backpacking first across Europe and then through Asia, following the Overland route and eventually reaching Australia. After living and working in Australia for three years (in Perth, Sydney and Cairns), David continued his journey, spending a year in New Zealand and several months island hopping across the Pacific back to Canada where he eventually settled into the family travel business. Having lead countless journey's around the world across all seven continents you could say David is one of the most experience tour escorts in the business.
Jane has been a member of our cruise department since 1992 specializing in cruise group departures. Her favourite cruises usually involve small ships and river cruises. When not assisting clients with their cruise vacations, she enjoys travelling, wine, gardening, music and theatre. One of her favourite vacation spots is the family cottage at Victoria Beach, Manitoba.
Having worked in the group travel industry since 1985, Joilyn joined the staff of Craig Travel in January 2004. Her travels have taken her to the United States, UK and Ireland, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Costa Rica, and on numerous cruises through the islands of the Caribbean. Her zeal for travel extends to escorting a number of groups – including both a cruise to and a tour of Bermuda, Israel and Oberammergau, South Africa, Costa Rica, Pennsylvania, Alaska Cruise and The Yukon, a river cruise in the Netherlands and England. She has floated in the Dead Sea, panned for gold in the Yukon, zip lined in Costa Rica, visited the staterooms of Buckingham Palace, and found all equally enjoyable. Her specialty is tours – her enthusiasm for travel and attention to detail ensures that passengers who book receive the best service possible.
Honour graduate from Everest College in Travel & Tourism, Sharon Bahadur was born in Guyana/South America and came to Canada in the early 80’s as a teenager to pursue the Canadian dream. Since then, Sharon has amassed a strong administrative background including positions in office management and as an executive assistant. She now has her eyes set on the world of travel. She has experienced the Caribbean flavour of traveling many times and has recently enjoyed engulfing herself in the exotic cultures and cuisines of both India and China, what an incredible experience! Next to see on her bucket list includes Iceland, Spain, and Japan. She enjoys assisting Craig Travel passengers with all their travel arrangements.
Jen Craig is of the third generation of the Craig family to pursue the love of travel. She is a member of Craig Travel’s Sales Department, specializing in independent travel arrangements including Ocean and River Cruises as well as small group and private custom land holidays. Since 2005, when Jen first started working in the travel industry, she has travelled to many places landing on 6 continents. Some of her favorite destinations include, but are not limited to, Alaska, Southern Africa, the Arctic, Australia, Peru, Turkey, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam and Laos. She loves to explore new and exciting places and immersing herself in different cultures around the world.
Gwendolyn graduated in Travel and Tourism from Centennial College in 2008. Her love of travel developed from visiting her family in Chile annually and being exposed to the multitude of different cultures in downtown Toronto. She has travelled to Chile, Cuba, Holland, Ireland and the UK. Next on her ever-growing list is Japan! While travelling she loves to go on unique adventures, try local cuisines and take photos of stunning architecture and people.
Gilda Kato joined the Craig Travel team in 1998, working first in Sales and more recently in Operations. Born in Hong Kong, she has also lived in Japan and Hawaii and has traveled through Asia, parts of Europe and North America. Having made her home in Toronto since 1986, she worked with the Hong Kong Tourism Board and a number of tour operators specializing in Asia before joining the team at Craig Travel. Over the years she has escorted a number of groups, specializing in China, South East Asia and Europe. She believes very strongly that travel not only expands your knowledge of foreign lands, it provides you an opportunity to act as an ambassador of your own nation. Travel allows us to exchange cultural experiences and to make friends all over the world, by doing so she hopes that our world will become a more friendly and peaceful place for everyone. Currently Gilda is managing the Operations Department at Craig Travel, ensuring that all your travel plans are handled with efficiency and that every detail is in place to ensure a carefree and pleasant journey through foreign lands.
Hailing from Hong Kong where she spent a number of years working with international business companies, Monita came to Canada in 1991. She has worked in the travel industry for more than 10 years, including three years assisting in the coordination of tours and group travel and then seven years in a retail travel agency as both a travel consultant and as a manager for leisure and corporate travel customers. She was involved in providing all kinds of travel services (flights, tours, cruises and more) for customers from many different cultural backgrounds. Since July 2007, Monita has been working in the Operations Department as an Operations Specialist, coordinating all travel arrangements (airlines, cruises, land travel etc) with our suppliers and land operators. She is also responsible for preparing final documents with detailed travel information for customers as well as the final documents for our tour leaders.
After starting her Travel and Tourism career in 1998, Christina worked for several years for tour operators as well as retail agencies before joining Craig Travel in 2017. She loves to travel and daydreams of experiencing all the exotic destinations around the world! She’s been to various Caribbean islands and has a goal of stepping foot on each continent one day; it’s such a long bucket list. Her most memorable trip was to Brazil, visiting her mother’s homeland, seeing and learning of her roots. Her great passions include exploring new places and photography.
Lorena joined Craig Travel in 2017 as an Operation Specialist, coordinating travel arrangements for our clients while dreaming about travelling on the exciting journeys. Her previous employment includes teaching in Brazil, where she moved to Canada from in 2014. Following two vacation trips visiting the Canadian Rockies, the prairies, and the west coast, she fell in love with Canada and it’s people so eventually moved here. Other travels also include Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay, Mexico, and USA. She’s also worked for a tour operator company, where she managed the company’s website updates and e-mail campaigns, plus she worked for Nestle Brazil as Executive Assistant of the Sales Department, mmmmm….chocolate!
Melanie started her journey with Craig Travel in 2011. Before joining Craig Travel she spent 4 years specializing in both Sales and Marketing for an international tour wholesaler. Melanie spent many years in the Hospitality Industry prior to settling into her career within the Travel Sector. Melanie has travelled to various countries within Europe and the UK, Asia and the Middle East, Africa, as well as North America, South America and the Caribbean. Melanie loves to travel and experience new things unique to the cultures of the destination. As a Marketing Manager Melanie’s role is ever growing and evolving. Her main focus is advertising and promotions and creating the Sales and Marketing pieces including the Experience our World Brochures. Melanie looks forward to her continued adventures with Craig Travel and is hoping travels to Oceania will be in her near future.
With Craig Travel since 2007, Yvonne has over 20 wonderful years of travel related experience, mainly specializing in Europe-bound group travel. She has held positions as a group reservation specialist and also a group department coordinator for an international tour operator. Her global journey thus far includes several European countries, North Africa (Morocco), some of the popular Caribbean destinations, North American destinations ranging from the west coast to the east coast, plus Hawaii & Mexico. She is fascinated with different cultures and customs and enjoys experiencing them first-hand through her travels. As a Marketing Specialist, Yvonne's role involves her in a number of marketing initiatives currently being developed as well as updating and maintaining the website. She is excited to be part of a diverse team of individuals with one goal in mind; to fulfill the dreams of our clientele. Yvonne is looking forward to her ongoing journey of broadening her expertise and travel experience with Craig Travel.
Freshly graduated from a French university in Travel and Tourism, Mélanie started with Craig Travel as an intern in 2014. She is now a permanent member of the Craig Travel team. She has traveled a lot through her own country, France as well as across Europe. Ireland was her favourite destination. She deeply explored it for a year as an exchange student and was happy to be part of the culture and enjoyed breathtaking landscapes the Emerald Island offers.
She has always had the travel bug and has also ventured around North American as well as North African. Her future destinations in mind are South America and Asia.
Roslyn, who was born in Brisbane Australia, has travelled the globe since she first left her home some two decades ago, both on her own and through working within the bounds of Craig Travel. While raising a family of four wonderful children, she has accompanied her husband David on both tours and cruises, exploring virtually every continent and visiting some one hundred different countries. Her extensive travel experience, caring nature and pleasant way with people are sure to enhance this exciting travel opportunity for all who are able to join her.
Robert Craig is of the third generation of the Craig family to pursue the love of travel. He is currently the Product Development Manager having first spent a number of years in sales and marketing. In the last few years, he has travelled by rail, cruise ship, coach and car through and around four continents, exploring the fjords of Norway, the Alps of Switzerland, the islands of the Caribbean, the highlands and Amazon of South America, and the wilderness of Canada. Among his favourites were the slopes above Interlaken and the inland waterways of Norway. He is always looking for a new adventure and a new locale to explore
Shelley Walton is a graduate of the CDI College Travel and Tourism program and has worked in Reception at Craig Travel since 2006. Always busy and on the go, Shelley is the first voice many visitors will here when they call our office and she will have organized the first package of information that you receive in the mail. Shelley is the “go to” person at Craig Travel but she always has a warm friendly smile and greeting for all visitors to the office. Prior to joining the Craig Family, Shelley ran her own Day Care Centre and looked after her family of four active children. Shelley would love to travel more - her favourite destination at the moment is Disney World.
Linda joined Craig Travel in 2005 as an accountant, bringing 5 years of expertise in a full accounting cycle in Travel Industry. She holds a Bachelor Degree on Business Administration and also a diploma from Toronto School of Business in Accounting and Payroll program. She loves math, history and literature.
We are very pleased to have Alan & Jennifer Ingram escorting this delightful journey. When not working with children and seniors, Alan and Jenny travel on independent trips, international community service projects, or with tour groups. They have led over 50 groups to destinations throughout the world. They look forward to sharing this experience with you.
After a 35 year management career with Lafarge Canada, Andrew and his wife Mary Catherine are now enjoying spending their time at the cottage and travelling to fascinating places around the world including Southern Africa, Italy, the Marquesas Islands, Russian Waterways, Tunisia, Israel, the South Pacific, UK, India & Bhutan, Kenya & Tanzania and several cruises including two with Holland America and two with Voyages to Antiquity. Having lived in Romania for two years they were pleased to lead a tour of that country in 2013. They have enjoyed equally land tours, river cruises and ocean cruises. Together, they are very much looking forward to sharing this special journey with you.
We are pleased to have Anne Graham escort our spring journeys. Anne is a retired teacher from Lanark County, and is active both locally and provincially in RWTO and RTO. She is the recipient of the Ontario Square and Round Dance Federation Award of Merit. Anne has traveled extensively and has lead tours and cruises to Israel, Britain, Alaska, Greece, Spain, the Orient and Ireland; to name only a few. Anne and her husband Bob are looking forward to sharing this journey with all those who join her!
Until she retired in 2004, Rev Barbara Sykes served as Rector of St Patrick's Anglican Church in Willowdale. She had also earlier served at St Paul's on Bloor Street in Toronto and St Thomas a' Becket in Mississauga. Before ordination, Barbara was a teacher and more recently has earned her Masters degrees in Divinity and Theology as well as her Doctorate in Ministry. With her husband Ralph, Barbara has travelled extensively and has led numerous tours and cruises on our behalf to many parts of the world including the Middle East, Europe and South America and the Pacific region.
Following successful careers in the teaching profession in the Toronto area, Barrett & Joyce Greenhow retired in 1998. They now divide their time between their home in Ballantrae, Ontario, their winter getaway in Naples and travelling the world. Their travel experience includes many trips to Europe, across Canada, numerous cruises, a 9-week trip to Alaska, Australia and New Zealand, parts of the Caribbean and most recently, a 3 week stay in Mexico including a 5 day train excursion through the Copper Canyon. They have escorted groups to various parts of Europe as well as Russia and in 2005 were responsible for 280 World Youth Day Pilgrims in Germany. They look forward to sharing each journey with all those who join them.
Brian and Deb Tilson live in Muskoka where they enjoy an active lifestyle of hiking, biking, and exploring Ontario waterways by kayak. They have done extensive travels to many parts of the world including Hawaii, New Zealand, England, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama and Canada from coast to coast. Brian has also traveled to Italy, Czechoslovakia, Sweden, Norway and Finland. Brian recently retired as a service engineer / service manager. He is a skilled photographer and is looking forward to sharing his love of photography with those joining this journey. Deb is a private music teacher, and has been singing and entertaining on stage for many years. They hope to make this a memorable experience for all those who join them.
We are indeed delighted to have Bill Brophy escorting our Newfoundland & Labrador journey this summer. A native of Canada's youngest province, Bill was a history teacher prior to entering the world of travel. He is an avid student of Newfoundland and Labrador's history and is extremely passionate in his love and loyalty to his native province. He is looking forward to sharing his knowledge and humor with you.
Reverend Jennifer Cameron and Bob Cameron are avid and frequent travellers. Jenny serves as the Deacon at All Saints Kingsway Anglican Church. She recently retired from being the Parish Nurse at the church and a Public Health Nurse in York Region. Bob recently retired from his job as a Technical Advisor in the stone industry. They have travelled extensively over the years and have joined Craig Tours to Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Ireland and Israel. They have also travelled around North America, the Caribbean, Italy, Iceland, Norway and enjoyed a unique trip to Uganda. Drive, cruise or tours, they enjoy them all. Jenny’s interests include birding, gardening, knitting and volunteering at the YMCA. She also loves spending time with their children and granddaughter. Bob also enjoys golfing, fishing and wood carving. They both look forward to travelling with all those who will join them.
Nick Cannon and his wife Pam, who are inveterate travellers, have journeyed through the United Kingdom, Africa, the Caribbean, and the Mediterranean. As two of our most popular leaders, they have escorted both cruise and tour groups to a wide variety of destinations including Panama, Alaska, South Africa, Europe and South America. Canon Stuart Pike has been a priest of the Anglican Church of Canada for 27 years serving in the Diocese of Quebec and Niagara and is now currently the Rector of St. Luke’s Church in Burlington. Stuart has been an avid traveller himself and has lived in France, Canada, the United States and England. In addition he has worked in mission projects in South and Central America, the Philippines and East Africa and the Indian Ocean. He and his wife Katherine have enjoyed travelling to England, and in Canada, the US and the Caribbean. Stuart has led tours to Oberammergau, Vienna, Prague and Budapest, Israel and Jordan and Alaska and is fluent in English, French and Spanish. His interest is in tours that feed and refresh body, mind and spirit.
